HELLO ... I HAVE THE CHANCE TO PURCHASE A CHROME GT THAT SAYS HUNTINGTON BEACH & CHROMOLY ON THE STICKERS. LOOKS VERY SIMILAR TO THE 83-84 CHROME GT'S IN THE GALLERY / MUSEUM HERE. IT HAS A DYNO STEM , REAR COASTER BRAKE, GT SEAT, GT CHAINWHEEL, GT BEARTRAP STYLE PEDALS & 1 PIECE CRANKS, CHENG SHIN TIRES ... ALL PARTS SEEM TO BE ORIGINAL. KICK STAND STILL ON IT ALSO. SHOULD I PICK THIS UP FOR $25.00 ??? ARE THESE A LESS SOUGHT AFTER GT OR WHAT ??? I WAS THINKING JUST GET IT CLEAN IT UP & THROW SOME GT POWER SERIES CRANKS ON IT , A NEW CHAIN (VERY RUSTED) & USE SOME GOOD RUST CLEANER (A FEW RUST AREAS BUT NOTHING MAJOR) ... IS THIS BIKE EVEN WORTH THE HASSLE ???

No, No, NO! It is not a good score, but when you do buy it, be sure to box it up and send it to me! I have $25 waiting for you, I can add that to my collection. Seriously that is a great score, and if you are interested in selling LMK. - Steve

i dunno. is it a race or freestyle frame?
the combination of coasterbrake and dyno stem make me think it's a mid-school entry level kids bike, rather than a true BMX bike - or at least a mix-match of parts. figure out what the frame actually is first. see if there is a model decal anywhere or try to get the serial number and anything else that might be stamped near it.

serial on the left dropout =07921559 ... inscribed on kickstand ... "made in china" or it might have been japan ... it's sitting at a thrift shop. pitbull brake & lever are worthless (all jacked up). handlebars are really rusted. frame & fork, gt seatpost & clamp & seat, rims & hubs are ok. is it worth getting a new chain, cranks, brake , lever, pedals (they are gt's & intact yet rust is noticable) & possibly bars if rustoleum doesn't do the trick on em' on this bike ??? headset pretty shot too. your input would be helpful.

I'd get it too. Anywhere GT's are, I've been known to buy em too. That frame may look like a real junk pile, but some TLC and time tracking down some retro parts will bring it back to life!
