$450 BIN for 401s anyway?
That's a little steep - I'd be hitting late $300s for a mint set.
Be careful people.
I'd consider hauling that seller up if in fact they are not 401s.

mid 90's flight cranks...certainly not 401's!

I don't think those are Taiwanese cranks, Mid 90's (pre - 98) I think?
I have a set on my 1997 Redline 544 Cruiser. I like em.
cielle926 certainly like's em!

Looks to me like a set of '87's ... the only year the arm didn't wrap around the pedal boss. I believe they are, indeed, 401's.
Unless I'm wrong, Flight cranks of any sort weren't made in Taiwan until just a few years ago ... and those would be the double pinch bolt FLIGHT cranks.
I recently sold an American Made set of those, with a ring on the 'Bay for a BUY IT NOW of $85. Of course, the buyer hasn't yet paid ... so, they may be back up soon.
It would be nice if Dave Connonetz would chime in here ... he's the absolute authority on Redline Flight Cranks.

you sure about that?
as far as I knew Zero sets of 401's existed without the wrap around boss on spindle & pedal

And if that's not bad, I just saw a used set of Crupi pedals sell for like $107 on the bay...when they're only 114 new!!! I don't know what some people are thinking sometimes.

Here's ID on Flight cranks:
http://www.vintagebmx.com/cgi-bin/ultimate...ic;f=4;t=000575Also, I think you have it reversed, I was under the impression the double pinch Flights are US made, the single Flights are "Proline" and foreign made. Am I wrong?

yeah, my bad, they may be US made... either way, they're not 401s.

No Wraparound = No Interest
Great sales story for a sucker to snap it up on impulse with a high ruy it now price....
The sealed BB is kind of a giveaway & I think the spindle not having splines cut all the way along its length makes it a later make , probably dates the as late rather than early flight cranks , no way the chainring matches the crank arms.
Someone got suckered big time here (imho) into paying well above market value on a set of 14 year old cranks.....
ouch.

in the description the seller says they are 14 years old.
so that makes them from 1992......
its always important to READ ENTIRE AUCTION DESCRIPTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is exactly why I don't play with flight cranks!
The first and only set I ever bought turned out to be Prolines in a scam, and I re-listed them the next day, and lost 25 bucks. (could have been worse)
It is like studying valence on the periodic table of elements. After about 10 minutes you say, "Anyone have a razor blade?".....

Zoinx! Well, I'm looking to snipe a new blue Helix square corner stem for fifty bucks, when they are $59 brand new. But they're sold out of the blue ones...

ha... ted carl. Its not THAT hard if the seller isn't evasive.
Just occured to me - could those be peregrine cranks ? I never looked at the peregrines closely but I know they have pinch bolts like that.
