Is the brace a "split" with a slot cut into the brace? Could be an MCS/Speed Hutch...Hmmmm...

yeah need a pic of that brace thing you speak of.
all HUTCH bikes had a brace behind the BB's.
You must mean something else.
"Is the brace a "split" with a slot cut into the brace? Could be an MCS/Speed Hutch...Hmmmm..."
that would be he only explanation I can see.
and that 1986 # was probably put there by an owner at one time. (I would think)

Yeah, I would say that's an MCS made frame. My early 80's MCS Magnum has the same brace. (see picture) That's also what the serial number stamps look like on real early MCS stuff. Cool find!
How long is the top tube?

i have not measured it but i will over the weekend. i found the bike on christmas eve this past year as you see it. complete. it was at a local bike shop ("joe haskins" here in tampa) in the used rack by the road. $120. plus tax and it was in the back of my truck on the way home. good buy i thought. does anyone know if they used a special mcs decal set or did they just have hutch decals? please help me restore it correctly. any additional info would be greatly appreciated. you guys rock
thanks for all
