not for that. look i learned the hard way. 4-5 years ago i put up a looptail for a buy it know 750 it sold in 20 min. of course 50 people from this site wrote me saying i should to this that and the other with or how dump a buy it know price is. fact is mine maybe was a lower sn but was dented & much used looked no were as nice as that one. know if this jumps the subject to the frame i sold let me say this. i had nothing in it and then we were kids no one ever thought much of it, it was to heavy the only thing it had going for it , it was SE & rode big. we all wanted pk's. and i was allways the kid whos favorite color was green when everyone else was blue or red ,so it fit me. but my 1st choice (at the time) na, many other. 20 years on sitting and a quick 750 when i needed was great. besides i would have never leaned all i have or had all the fun ive had vintage hunting if wasnt for that loop i sold. another note: i found pk46227 , it rough but from my youth & heading to Rod'z but thats another thread.

A quad like that with cycle pro forks would have sold for $3K a few years ago when the fad was hot. Trends come and go in this hobby.

im keeping this at the top of the list. what-up with the 5- digit sn# ? some 4 some 5 ? $1000 is a chunk but is this the bike we all want? the $250 more than i sold mine for looks to buy alot. much much nicer frame. Ok i have pics if someone whats to post. i saved them. i think i remember the guy who bought it , i should contact him to see it know, im sure he cherried it he was crazy happy to get it.

Look at the welds and thickness of the drops, is that one of the steel ones? Doesn't look aluminum.
mid-evil
simple as a trend? what a roller coaster ride.
mid-evil
holy@#$( its definately not alum. by the way are there any fony 20" looptailquads out there. like the largeer 24-26 copys ive seen?
mid-evil
on the subject. in joe kid they show the silly map that shows the path of the early SE tour(s). And they do go show and mention going thru kansas. any1 in the "know" tell me what city and/or track or any info on the SE tour thru kansas? or who would know?
aasman
what? are you guys retarded? that looptail is chromoly and not aluminum! the most sought after looptail quads are the mild steel versions-- less than 200 were made. duh! "what, are you guys on dope!"

It has been for sale 3-4 times. It has a rattle can paint job & that is not show quality. I talked to him & he seemed nice but just wanted cash. It is a little high for what it is.

mid-evil - to answer your question, "are there fony" quads out there.....YES. i have one. i knew it was a repro when i bought it. i won't mention the person's name who it originally came from (i'm the 3rd owner so i didn't have to deal with anything bad), but supposedly the quad i have was welded by Sal from SE. who knows? i don't know Sal, so i can't ask him. PM me with your email, and i'll send you a pic of what it looks like.

I have a loop tail quad that I got new sometime in 1980/81. It only has a four digit serial number stamped on. Did the serial numbers vary widely between production runs? I'm as confused about dating looptails as I am korean squire strats.
