Sexy is the right word Jon, pity she's under aged . . . no let's not go there.
Love the red forks contrasting the chrome frame. I saw that on another build of yours awhile back and it inspired me to build one myself. Hope you don't mind me borrowing your great idea!
Love the lacing on the wheels and the red bars to match the forks. Juicy!!!

Thanks Martin, I like the red forks as well, problem is they are a 1980/1981 JMC fork, and much as it looks good, It bugs me that its nor era correct, I scored some later forks for the build these were on, I have scored a later set again now, so I will swap these out soon,

Your pursuit of perfection is an admirable quality . . . fight on!!!
P.S. I knew you wouldn't stop at 10 or 20 JMCs or whatever the number was a few months ago. Pretty soon Jim himself is going to adopt you. LOL

Dude, I doubt she's less than 20, probably closer to 25.
I like to see the old mini builds come up. My son's 7 now, and it's cool to imagine him on a track on a bike like that. He'll have to makre do with what he has, just like I did. He does, however, have the benefit of his pappy being a bike fiend.
You forgot to drill out the chainring, chain, and Uniseat.

I love it Jon! I've gotta ask....did you weight the bike? I too love all the drilling in the components. I really like the radial lacing as well...looks like you definately were watching your weight on this one. Beautiful.
Are there still JMC's you need to complete your collection?

Hi Tom, I have a few lighter components to swap out before i weigh it, a narrow chain and a 39t chainwheel !
My Justin roos mini is still at the chromers , have all the parts to build it, and then there is at least one of each of the 20" frame models (exlucuding minor differences within a specific frame model)
At that point I hope to get a prof pic of each one and a line up shot of the fleet !

I was a huge Justin Roos fan and was good friends with the family, it will be intersting to see your Justin inspired frame as he was a popular younger rider bitd but was often over looked by a very dominating Geoff Scofield and Andrew Soule. One was a teammate for me and the other was a Michigander that ruled the mini ranks in the early 80's.
Thanks for sharing the drilled out micro mini. We actually had two riders here in Michigan that Jim built these ultra tiny frames for. One was Kelly Ann Merryman, who was a great little rider with a dad that had a knack for drilling out everything he could on the frame. Her brother "BMXTEACHER" still posts on here from time to time and has posted some of their collection which is not for sale from what I read but I'm sure is very impressive as is yours.

Hi Jon,
Got your PM. I'll reply back in the morning as I am up way past my bedtime and I know I'll think of more to type in the morning. Thanks for the PM! I'm not a collector but I seem to have more stored in my noggin about the riders of the era mainly the amatures and I'm not sure why. Geoff was a teammate on GT and Andrew was a local rider here in Michigan so I guess I just payed attention to the class. I do remember Justin was much smaller than Geoff and Andrew who always seemed to dominate that age group but Justin always won the hearts of everyone for being so noticably smaller.
I asked Jim about the Roos family when I was in Rockford last year. I was always hoping to learn about their "life after BMX" story. Justin retired far before his time. It may have been because his family chased the local district points for the ABA. He sometimes raced 4 or 5 times per day in Arizona. That should have been the burnout point for any little kid, including the adults. It seems there was a story about Justin on a flyer from the ABA back in the day. It may still be on their website
www.ababmx.com the flyer was one about BMX racing and it highlighted Jason Wharton, Justin Roos and Cheri Elliott.
