I will not speak for anyone but I really dislike it when people have auctions on ebay and in their photos they show off all their goodies. Pretty busch league if ya ask me. The link below is horrible. He takes photos showing off his "stuff" then mentions how its not for sale. ive sold well over 2000 auctions on ebay and NEVER pulled that karap. hpg333 and 4cranks are my names........

Kinda like the auctions where people put "I believe that this item was once owned by <insert name of bigtime collector here> but I cant confirm this....
Sheeze, why dont they say something like "I swear, Elvis once owned this"

but seriously, when you offer up some garbage or nothing special but somehow in the background is nos cook bros pads, nice number plates, hutch hubs it makes me mad.
on another note, what is it that makes people take photos of their bikes in their kitchens? If your house is that small that the only place to take a picture of your bike is the kitchen i suggest 2 things..................
A. STOP SPENDING MONEY ON BIKES AND BUY A BIGGER HOUSE
B. TAKE PICTURES OUTSIDE
C. BUY A STAINLESS STEEL STOVE SO AT LEAST IT LOOKS SOMEWHAT ATTRACTIVE.
D. HAVE SOMEONE NAKED IN THE PHOTO TO MAKE THE VIEWER FORGET THE PHOTO SUCKS.

My point is i have had alot of bmx stuff, I mean ALOT! Ive sold alot as well. I might very well have had one of the biggest collections. However, i never tried to trick people, I never tried to neglect ebay rules, I never tried to show off , I never tried to make people jealous. This has been going on for awhile on ebay and I think its a lame game. If you want people to see your goods or sell your goods then annouunce it, dont skirt around the edges like a little terrorist.

Looks like a little advanced advertising to me. Maybe he hopes it will create a buzz get people to bookmark his auctions so they will check back when he puts the rest up for sale. Or maybe that is his room dedicated to his bikes and he just did not want to pick up his stuff.
What about the pics with multiple items in them and then they say "it is the third one in the row others available in other auctions."

I wasnt going to respond to this thread again because I didnt want to get in a ****ing match with anyone but I would like to say that my previous post might have sounded a bit too harsh, it just ****ed me off a bit about the pics in the kitchen comment. I live in a moderate sized apt. with my wife while we look for a house, I have somewhere between 19-21 bikes but can only have 2 built at any given time, the rest are in the attic. I keep it that way out of respect for my wife, we dont all have garage space dedicated to our hobby. As far as living in a trailer i dont but what if i did? Does that make me some kind of [I tried to curse]? I'm sure a bunch of people on here do live in one.Ever think of that? For someone who "might very well have have had one of the biggest collections" why would it bother you that the guy has stuff in the background of his auction photos? Does he have something you want & it ****es you off that its not for sale? To me at least it shows he actually collects and might know something about bikes. I want to again say that I"m not trying to cause drama or Ill will between me and Tone or anyone, There are a bunch of guys on here who know me & know thats not my game.
Sorry if I've offended anyone for sticking up for someone I dont know (no they're not my auctions) He might actually be a very cool guy.

To start with this thread wasnt a direct slam on you. I didnt even know who the seller was. I dont follow that stuff anymore. Thats why in my first post i used the word "he". I didnt know it was anyone on this board. (not that it would have made a difference anyway).
The statement you made about living in a small apartment while looking for a house makes me laugh. I lived in apartment years ago and an attic like you seem to have would have been nice.
My thread was started for one reason and one reason only, your use of ebay neglect and the hopes to gain attention. I understand your teeny tiny apartment is very hard to live in. My deepest sympathys go out to you and your wife and your 21 bikes. I also understand and respect your compulsive behavior to be so MONKISH that all your pads sit label side up. Those grips on the floor in the little nazi row are also fun to look at.......
Get my point! Its really silly to do that. If ya want to show off say so, come on the site and say "look what I got", but to try to gain from an auction is quite lame. Next time hire a hooter chick to hold your frame up next to herself.

I don't usually get involved in stuff like this, but what the heck, I am bored.
"your use of ebay neglect and the hopes to gain attention." Yes, it is called selling your product in the best way possible. Every single seller has the intention of enticing someone to buy his stuff today, or sometime in the future. Someone above called it advanced advertising which is a completely acceptable form of "conditioning the market".
Why you would criticize publicly how someone takes pics inside their home is beyond me. It is in no way showing off. It is sad that his pics cause you to feel bad enough that you would slam some unknown person just because you think his house is nicer than yours. It thought his pics and extra advertising were well thought out and represent what is right with capitalism. Your comments to me are what is generally wrong with the internet.

Like i said before.........I dont know whos auctions they are and i really dont care. My point is I feel the auctions annoy people and are done in very poor taste.
If you want to call it capitalism then so be it. I for one enjoy looking at ads that sell the product advertised. I also dont believe that this is "selling your products the best way possible". Is that the case? Advertise one item and have a big group of potential other sales? Because correct me if im wrong that would have the buyer contact the seller to buy them without the use of ebay (which by the way is prohibbited on their site). If you want to sell something without ebay to avoid fees I know of a GREAT SITE, youre on it right now.
From what i gather the buyer is trying to gain future sales by being a genius capitalist. Then like on so many transactions theres the "i got screwed deal" and ya know what, ebay aint gonna help ya partner. I know of course you can sell things without ebay but my point is he IS ON EBAY. If he wanted to take a group photo and put it on vintages for sale section that would be cool.
And the comment about the stove im sticking behind! Anyone who thinks the best place to take nice shots in order to be an intelligent capitalist, is infront of a stove needs a talking to. Goes against the entire theory. Maybe I will sell my stove on ebay, I'll take the photo in the garage next to all my bikes. maybe I'll even put it on a bmx track. Capitalism at its finest.

you know, when youre looking for a hutch pro racer frame so you type in 'HUTCH FRAME"
then some ad pops up saying "suntour seat clamp, not HUTCH, JMC, REDLINE"
talk about clogging a site and wasting someones time. If youre looking for a hutch frame youre better off typing in the word "not" and you should find some good stuff.

I get annoyed when seeing a matching frame & fork set split up & auctioned at the same time by the one seller , but if they want to slpit a set & pay double the adveritising fee's on everything they sell thats their choice , It's not me doing the selling.
I was glad when an Skyway XL TA turned up on the bay without forks for sale as I already had a set of Bottema forks waiting for the frame , but a whole level of Lunacy has been achived from this guy by parting out a complete set of Redline Fite cranks here
Spindle & bearings
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...item=7212955439Right hand crank
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...item=7212955906Altho I can't find it now , he is also seperately auctioning off the Left hand crank , all at the same time.
Triple the advertising fees & triple the gouging when he sells them , it just seems wrong & possibly stupid to be breaking up a matching set of 175mm full wrap single pinch flites all at the same time , he must have his reasons... the gross price of a complete set of flites at the moment is higher than what he should get by selling them off as single items...it'll be fun to watch especially if I can tag the Left hand crank arm number & watch the sale of all 3 bits..

Those auctions are mine and I put those items on there because they are all going to be offered for sale. I do spend too much time and money on all these parts and going to get out of the hobby. I do live in a tiny apartment right now and getting ready to buy a new house but the BMX items will all go! I have done this in the past and people have contacted me about items they have been looking for and I make deals outside of Ebay. I am not into Ebay and would rather sell here but some people in this hobby just want stuff for a little bit of money. I make decent money but Ebay prices seem to get out of hand. I am not that sorry that I am not up to all of your standards and will continue to sell on Ebay until this stuff is gone. I like the bikes but since I am “Busch League†(a NASCAR term – go figure) and not as "BIG" as some of the collectors here I cannot hang. In all honesty, I don't have anything that I think is so "great" - after all it is just old bike parts. To 98% of the people in the World it is JUNK! I buy these items because I think they are cool. All that matters to me - if TONE thinks they are goodies - fine. This hobby is starting to bore me and think it is about over for me. I will keep what I want and the majority of items will go with no reserve. I will not go to Rockford this year (was planning on it) however, I think this hobby is for all you "rich" guys who are trying to recapture their youth and can afford to buy it back! GOOD LUCK! Quite a few need to recapture your health and lose quite a bit of weight in the process!
I was not posting all my items to say I have a ton of items, because I don't but what I do have, it seem is to high price for some of the folks here to pay, would like to get at least what I paid. I have one of the rooms in my place set aside for collectibles and that is the place I take the pictures for the most part. I cannot remember saying how rich I was, after all it is a relative. I promise you no matter how much you have you will always look poor to someone else!
Hopefully all your lives are perfect and continue to be that way. I bet a lot of you could not go to the bank and pull out $50,000 of your very own un-borrowed cash! Not out of your 401k, not out of your life insurance, not out of your second mortgage... true debt free cash! I would expect quite a few would have to ask their Mommy’s (Wife) if they can do anything!
I have overpaid for a lot of stuff and just want to get out without a huge loss. I made a sacrifice to start a different life for me! I employ 5 guys and they have families. I live like this, have never declared bankruptcy or owed anyone any money - ha ha - I live in “poverty†since I don't owe and won’t die in debt.
I work in an affluent area; I pay a lot for rent in a minimal apartment. Yes, it is a waste of money for tax reasons and for equity but for now I have very little overhead. I could take off work for a year now but want more and willing to sacrifice. I am sure some of you retired at 30? Maybe 40? Make your judgments, bid, don't bid it is trivial to me. The minimal stuff I have has all been acquired via VBMX and Ebay. It seems I pay way too much for some of this stuff that is so "rare" and I want to list it all but not at a big loss. I did not list everything at one time due to time constraints on boxing & shipping. Some of the parts shown are to finishing building a few more complete bikes - which no one will pay what I have in some of these. Everyone is looking for a "DEAL" then talk about what a score it was that you got something for so little money (I guess the guy who sold it needed the money for something to make their life better and is a FOOL). Anyone ever stop and think about helping others rather than cutting down and taking advantage. All the “rich†guys ask how much for everything - no matter what you say they offer less! If you were so rich pay what the price is – Ever heard the saying: if you have to ask you cannot afford. I am tired of petty! I know guys on here, same people I meet everyday in business, who would easily take someone’s last $1 if they could make $.01 on it.
I own my Suburban (paid cash) two enclosed trailers (not doublewides, and paid cash) and have NO debt of any kind. I would suspect I spend more on gas to run this business then most of your guys house payments! The average house in my area runs about $500,000. I grew up in this area and want to buy a house here. So in closing if it makes you all feel better that I live in a pile of crap - so be it. I know it is a pile of crap but I am moving on from here in 6 months. I started my own business with all my own cash, pay employees out of my own cash flow. It is my choice to live here and put most everything back into my business & not barrowing to make my life "look" better. Ha Ha on me.
It is, what it is but I did not add all these pictures to say it is not for sale. Heck, everything is for sale. Do you guys want some NOS stuff, I will pay you to take it away and I pay shipping to the UK? I had to add that shipping since I did get stung for shipping, when I put shipping on one auction in good faith (estimated) not realizing that shipping rates had more than doubled. Why sell a bike for $300 and me cover an additional $320 to ship a item someone else wants?
Imagine this: after I added all that about shipping in my auctions, I have had at least 10 emails asking if I would still ship items out of the lower 48!!! As far as to Germany!!! I know there will be follow-up post to this and I hope all of you get a good laugh! It is good to see all you "experts" on EVERYTHING having some fun. Great World out there if you are the people in it ( I bet your kids are the same way), this is why I am getting out of this hobby and focus in on bigger endeavors. Thank you for helping making this easier. Thanks and good luck to you and your future generations!

I will not lose sleep nor do I want to continue with follow-ups – HAVE FUN or realize this is not the lifestyle I want to be associated with!
All items will be sold on Ebay – slowly. People will buy them and I will be happy to see others have them. It is amazing the people who have posted negatively, all the people I have not had any correspondence with or even know anything about me. Keep up the good work and your wonderfully rewarding lives.
