aaaaaaawwwwwwww.......c'mon, OLD GUYS...that's just the geritol talking. get up a couple hours early and swipe the dang thing. you'll be back in time for your metamucil. heck, i bet if you pop a little blue pill on the way back you might even get the missus to be a little frisky. maybe you should be looking for a sign that says "Old Tool" instead of Old School...

You made a good choice. Honor always wins out in the end. How would you explain to your son you got arrested for something like this (or frankly, arrested for anything within your control)?

Funny, in Rockford, there is a Bell School Road. I always thought that should be renamed Old School Road, in honor of our annual invasion. Little did I know that Old School Road actually exists...
Also in Rockford, I passed thru the intersection of Auburn St & Huffman Blvd. Anybody else catch the irony there?

I've been following this thread a bit and it brought back memories of being a kid.
BITD some friends and I got bored on summer tour(Samantha Crupi-Don Crupi's daughter, Chris Backus-Hutch Factory Rider from Washington, Brit Audeoud-GT and Hutch Factory Rider, Geoff Scofield-GT Factory Rider and Danny Nelson-GT Factory Rider) found a street sign of interest. Somehow we all boosted Chris Backus up in the air while he tore down a street sign called Hutchins Blvd. Richard and his wife were very pleased to see our present later that night and I have a memory that has stuck with me for life.

I saw that sign and tought That looks like a Minnetonka sign. I and some one else here procured one of those flashy barrier things one night. Theres a tiny whole on the back where you stick a pin into it to turn it off and on. I plead the fifth.

Get a hard hat and ladder. Drive up around noon like you've been at public works all your life.
Remove all signs at the inter section. Keep your sign and replace with this one............

When I was about 12 ,we were touring through Georgia I think. We stopped to eat at mc-d's and when everyone was on there way to the van I ran back in and grabbed a cardboard poster of Miss Piggy doing a wheelie on a bike.I do believe that poster may still be hanging in wooden wheels shop.Whats the statue of limitations for pig theft in Georgia?Anybody seen my piggy?

During my visit to 2HIP bikes, Ron Wilkerson's company, I ran into this sign of all things.

Bob Haro had a chuckle when I sent him it.

There is a rural route north of my town that used to be called route 666. For some reason it's been stolen so many times they changed the number.
Right after I got out of high school my roommates and I jacked a sign on the outskirts of a smaller town a few miles south of us. It was a highway sign and the name of the town was Beaver Crossing. It was mounted on my bedroom door for about 3 years!

i didn't read this whole dang thread but the road departments don't really do anything with those old signs.
Just ask the city or county when they might be swapping signs and have them set it aside.
I was given a street sign from in front of my house that way, they thought i was pretty silly for asking, but they even unbolted it for me as they were swapping posts.
