I know the '84s had sr stuff. Not that it's a big deal. I know what I want to do with it. I'm just curious what would be "correct" I read that you could get the bike many ways. F/F with cheap components, built up with high end parts or just the f/f.

Yeah I love my avatar! I should add a cowbell to my drum set. I stole it from someone else on another forum.

The first generation I remember a lot of SR stuff (stem, seat clamp, one piece crankset/disc and sprocket, hubs) and Ukai rims, AM'E grips, those GT knobbies...

Mine (ser. 3/85) had:
SR tubular cranks
SR steel spider, chrome
Black GT 43t chainring
SR plastic platform pedals
Ukai alloys, 1.75 silver, don't remember the hubs
Dominator seat
Straight seatpost, unmarked
alloy seat post clamp
Rear brake only, looked like Weinmann, think that's it. Did they make Dia-compes like that?
Unmarked chrome GT style bars
A'me Round grips
Generic (?) (Unmarked) silver alloy stem (looked kinda Suntour but probably SR)
Cheng Shin Comp III style tires

Not the way I'm doing mine as I don't have most of these parts anymore! I'm building it the way it ended up after a while.

I've still got the spider, if anyone needs one. Like, for the cost of the postage.
