That pic of Whitey is VERY rad but I still think the guy doing the table-top while skying out of the plane has more 'big air' than anybody on here. Granted he may have cheated....but still........seriously though, that pic with Whitey is WAY RAD....

No pics, just a story. When I was about 14 I ran into Tim Judge in the hallway of a motel here in Fla. somewhere. He was carrying a fold up super jump.I had to ask where you going with that jump Tim.He said the pool man !Well I grabbed the jump from him and ran to the pool .It was a indoor pool with double doors on both sides of it .I opened both doors and got the kids out of the pool.Tim was about 15-16 years old then.Anyway he flew down the hallway and hit the super jump at mach 1 and flew all the way across the pool landing in the other hallway smooth as glass.I was shocked how casual Tim was about this trick.Man could he jump.At My high school later that same year I started jumping off a hill that surrounded the running track. From the top of the hill to the bottom there was about 30 ft. elevation change.I would launch off the top and beable to count to four before I would land at the bottom right before the transition to flat.People would hang out in groups as I would fly over there heads, probably 12-15ft. above there heads.Sure wish I had a picture of that.I got a honda 200x that year and started hitting that jump on the 3 wheeler.I jumped it until one day when I landed on the flat.Never wrecked off this jump thank God.I have to thank Tim because I would have never attempted this without seeing what could be done on a bmx bike.Tim NO FEAR Judge THANK YOU.

To Greg Folk, hey, thanks for posting the pic of Darrell jumping over my bro, Doug. Actually, that pic was taken by gOrk at Gabriel Park in Portland, OR.
It appeared in Homeboy Magazine, an off-shoot mag from BMXA, Go, Freestylin', etc.
Interesting side note, that was the same photo shoot that the Toboggan was released to the world. 20 years later, you can't pick up a magazine of BMX or MTB without a pic of someone doing it.

That pic of Stu over the Porsches is one of my all time favorite pictures, the jump, the rider, the color symmetry. Perfect. That should have been a full size poster.

Here's a pic I took way back at a WOS in Miami-don't know who the rider is-maybe someone can identify. This isn't as good as some of the other pics, but I wanted to contribute!

I've always loved this photo. Can't remember who it is, when it's from, or what magazine I scanned it from...

Stumbled on to this picture in a old book I have. Here is about as big of air you got on a cruiser. Not many cruiser pictures around!
fogrider

fogrider
The man Is Todd Lyons The place is East moline over the pro section.

fogrider
Ok last one. This pic may look familiar to some NBL'rs as it made the cover of the BMXR. As you can see in the lower right side a camara man is getting the same shot. I like to call this my picture of someon taking a picture. LOL The riders is Brad Descamps.

msalyers

I apologize for the poor quality. I've got way more video than pics, so I just took pics of my tv with the video on pause. These are from a little session at my local practice track (3rd Ave Zephyrhills) during spring break 1989. You will see me (mostly with my head cut off), Kelly Baker, Percy Owens (on my other bike, don't tell Free Agent), Gork, Danny Nelson, Reid Anderson, etc.

invisibleman1
man,i'm tired of getting cropped out of that photo....lol
Namza
LOL, invisible1.

In our area, Todd Lyons was by far the raddest and getting the biggest air. I don't have any pics of him, but I'll post a pic of me at the 87 NBL Grands over the pro section. It's nothing compared to some of the pics here, but I was afraid of heights (HA!).
bnd
Alot of you don't go into the race section so I'll post this here. This was 2 weeks ago at our indoors. Local fast kid Robbie Patterson, 15x, KILLING it! The light fixture is 25 ft' off the floor of the arena.

I was in Billy's cruiser moto the year this pic was taken. He and I lived about 30 min from each other and our families traveled to the races together. Crazy driving all the way from OH to end up in the same moto.

I never did go to Niagra Falls, but am very familiar with Doni and Doug. I was looking through old pics last night and found a local cruier race with Billy, Doni, and I coming over the first jump together.

Shoot me a PM with your name if you don't want to post. It is possible we raced each other for sure.
cornfed
Oh man I really need to get off my arse and scan some pics. I have a ton from that race. The last time I was there was '85...
Chris C.
I think that pic of me is from 85.

Stu,

What was it like to land from that one? Three cars to flat ground?
84profile
No matter how many times I see Stu over the Porsches, it sends a shiver down my spine...just like I'm sure the landing would have!!!

Hey Mr No Cred, what is the story behind those shots in particular the second one...that is mental!

Keep em coming, this thread is awesome!

84, those pics and a few others I have were taken after the races during the jump contest. Here's a few more, I think these are all taken on the same day......

This last pic don't look like much until you check out the shadow.....the shadow knows....

To me BMX and MX have always been about going fast and jumping high and far. In 1977 I was only 10 and jumping ten feet on a bike or cycle felt big.

I just thought this was a cool topic and the only old school part of my reply is my age. I'm 41 now and this pic was taken a few months ago. 40 foot doubles I dug and jumped at 40 years old. That is my biggest air.
The Red Baron
Everything about that picture of you jumping those doubles in that forest setting is outstanding! I love it!
