There's a lot of pretty good jukeboxes in town! Finding those booths and wall sconces couldn't be that easy, either. Especially with I don't know how many years of use that the booths have had. It was major trauma when they changed their sign a few years back.

I would rather see those bikes go to needy kids rather than meeting the fate of a safari trophy!

I can't believe this thread is still going.
If TGI Fridays are to be hung, drawn and quartered for their offences against oldschool please do not come to my home town or I can see mass suicides ocurring!
I hate to think of frames and rims being drilled, but alot of that can be repaired, how about crushed beyond recognition, shipped to asia and returned to us as daewoos and hyundais?!
I'll explain:
I live in a city of about 100 000 people. It has quite a large garbage dump (as you can imagine)
To enter the dump one must first drive over a weighbridge and then through the "drive through" area where an excellent Aussie charity organisation named "lifeline" (and I am not being sarcastic-lifeline run many excellent programs that have helped many, many people) have a store run in conjunction with the local council.
This store has a manager (paid) and a number of staff who are either volunteers or others who were "volunteered" by the local communtiy corrections office and are performing "community service" as part of a court sentence.
As you drive in the staff check the back of your ute (pick-up) or trailer and remove anything that they think they can sell back to the public or (HERE's THE KICKER) sell for scrap.
There are a number of large skips along the side of the driveway and bicycles are thrown straight in!! These guys don't know the difference between Huffy's and Looptail Quads.
There have been a number of incidents were persons (myself included) have become involved in disputes with staff trying to rescue bikes from the skips. I have only been sucessful once, and a mate of mine sucessfully rescued a powerlite mini loaded with top components on one occasion.
Thinking of what is getting crushed (and returning to Australia as sh!tty cars etc. from asia) keeps me awake some nights. I suppose collector might think its great, wiping out the competition - I DON'T.
So why dont we quit whining about someone hanging bikes (we love) in an air conditioned restaurant and worry more about those rusting away in barns or being crushed and lost forever.
-Pete.

To be honest fellas, if there were a Friday's here I would help them find a bike to display. It is better that a few holes be drilled for the whole town to see than to be tucked away in someone's closet. I think somebody might look up there and remember that he had one or a good friend and relive his easier days through a bite to eat. I think it is great. Think of all those old Camaros that were cut up into drag cars and run into the wall. That is the real shame.

I'm sure the 69RS will be next! They will split them down the middle that way they can hang two for the price of one!
