That Junior Super Pro belonged to Myke Landis (Co DG and ABA #2 when Kyle Flemign won If I remeber right). Myke's father modified the frame and had it rechromed. It surfaced here in the Portland area a couple years back. Not production material.

well i have invested $2,444.29 in restoring this 1980 DG-2 i have had since i was 13. and i can say i fell in love with it all over again what a joy to ride.

I finally weighed my DG 22Lbs 8oz almost as light as a Cal Pro it weighed 22Lbs 4oz

i have a question i know DG is Dan & Gary but i have heard it 2 ways Dan Hangsleben and Gary Harlow and then i have heard Dan Harlow and Gary Harlow so what is the correct names?

also i have heard the ZF-1 is Zuener-Friday is this correct?

The info that I have is D.G. Performance Specialties (Dan Hangsleben & Gary Harlow). Also, you are correct regarding the ZF-1.

Sidenote regarding the ZF-1. Ed Smith (DG BMX San Diego) sent me one of the first production framesets before painting. My 13X rider, Barry Ikeda rode it two weeks later at the ABA Natl at the Anaheim, CA Convention Center and made the finals, but crashed in the final turn. Wish I had kept the ZF-1. It was a good riding bike.

I almost forgot about this thread,DUH... Anyways I just looked under my DG Vulcan to find the number 05779 on the bottom of the B/B,I cant find numbers anywhere else.I always thought that meant number 57 from 1979?

when I was at Tim Cooks a couple of years ago,he had that frame or one identical to it and mentioned that Steve Skibils Dad had done that to Steve's frame to give him a edge.Hmmmm... cool anyways.

Same frame as Tim bought it from Jimmy Roth (if memory is not failing me). It was Landis frame. the frame Skibel gave to Landis was actually an alluminum DG frame. It bent was out of wack in Seattle at the indoor race in the old Key Arena. Landis straightened and added gussets.

yep, that is Tim Cooks frame. he bought a set of DG forks from me and emailed me this photo saying the forks were for this.

My DG26 Loop has only S stamped on the right dropout. There is no other numbers anywhere.

DG Skibel though not totally era correct still a total restore with original parts along with my Super Pro. Built just to bring back memories and love that these are what was raced by me and my bro bitd. serial # on the Skibel is 676T 026.

I'm not totally sure thought someone could help out with the serial # 676T 026 "77 or 78"?

i was thinking maybe 76 since te early ones had no gusset.

76 to 78 had no gusset. The 79 DG Book of Tricks has the frame (still Called Steve Skibel Replica) with gusset as part of the frame.

cool i cant wait till they show up in the mail. my head tube decal does not have the correct colors so having an original is going to be awesome. im showing my DG for the first time this Sat.

Yeah they re pop DG decal doesnt come with the correct headtube decal for 78's. Well it has a black one but it doesnt fit the head tube. Love this thread!

Khang has new and old style gusset decals, DG RACER Decals and the mid size seat decals. No head tubes unfortunately.
