DG used the same drop outs forever (except the very first models in 1976). Even at the end on ZF1 they used these drop outs.
The blue DG is late 1977. Solid weld, round brake bridge and old logo... Check under the BB. SN likely has 77 in it (i.e. 1177 on row one, second row will be the number for the month).
Cal Pro is a Super Pro painted cool and sold as a built bike.
Did you actually get the plate Jody from the guy's garage floor? Excellent if so. TIM has the plate to this bike.

Thanks man. The serial was partial grinded, filled in and painted over before it got to me. Cool its a 77, gives me a time frame to work in. Does it have a particular name?
Sorry for all the questions, DGs were before my time, so I'm playing catch up. I appreciate the help.

weigh the frame. DG3 = 5 or so lbs. DG2 = 4.25 or so. DG2 is Cromoly. DG3 is Mild Steel. Blue is the color of a DG3. Dg2 was Chrome or Yellow in 1977.

The rainbow DG jersey just isn't right... Blue and yellow (with touches of white if you go crazy), but not rainbow logos.

Pics and story sent to me by Dave Fraint...
Here's what he wrote........
All I know for sure is that only a few were made and I was lucky enough to get one ($275 back in 79). They seem to resemble the 78 DG "rooster" bikes. As I said before, only the gussets were different. I'm sending two pics, one is from the day after I bought it, (sorry about the quality)... the second pic is of a junior DG frame and fork that I have modified to resemble the original Husky for my kid. My original frame and fork are being powder coated at the moment. If there is some interest in my bike I will gladly post some pics of it when I'm done restoring it.

Hey all, I'd like to add to Johnny Johnson's quote about my bike. The Husqvarna BMX bikes were made by DG in a very limited quantity. If anyone out there reading this rode for DG or worked for DG or both and has some knowledge about these bikes, I would love to hear from you. I'd like to make a website about Husqvarna BMX bikes but, I really need some more info...... unfortuantely DG has offered no help. Since the Husky bikes weren't very popular back in the day I rooted for the DG riders.... It's great to see a forum where you guys hang out!

Kevin spoke of this, but here it is! DG Monoshock BMX Bike! From the 1975 "MX" Book of Tricks. The First "BMX" Book of Tricks was 1976.

Good catch Ben!
I remember putting that bike together like it was yesterday! I was soooooooooo excited! 15 years old with a prototype monoshock BMX bike. The bike in that picture was my bike, it was the prototype for the monoshock line. The production models used a simpler frame design, and were powder coated orange. The bike in this picture is yellow. I eventually put a set of Yamaha Moto- Bike forks on that bike for full suspension. It was a tank, LOL! Thanks for digging this up Ben.

Here is one of my little projects I am almost finsihed with. I know it is a Racer II but that is about all I know. I think I am going to change out to chrome cranks and a different sprocket. DG pads to follow soon enough... thanks to EMPI.
Any help on idenity would be great. Not even sure f the series 1 Araya 7b's are correct but I sure like how they look on there.... Thanks to a Rampar R-11 I used as the donation bike!

After pracicing at Kearny Moto Park last night, I went to El Torito in San Diego/ Mision Valley with my bud Vance Weisendanger (Haro/ NAG #1 19-27x).
As we drove out of the parking lot, I saw some little economy car with a California license plate...

Quick questions about the frame pictured above. I was told it's from 1977 but the serial number is 28282 so does that mean it's from 1982? Also, I'd like to eventually build it up. Any recommendations on parts I should use would be appreciated. Cheers.

Looptail cruiser is 82 or so. The Non loop 26" was first and it was 1980. The gusset style was from 1977 and for some reason the used them later on the cruiser. Perhaps old materials sittign around.
