Hey Brad, I remember the old Barnett track. That pic is the last turn before the straight. That turn was huge. I remember using the 1st berm as a quarterpipe or jumping it into the straight/last turn. Memories.

hey vaughn, That pic from the race a Malibu Grand Prix is of Scott Clark, Clint Miller and David Clinton.
That picture reminds that Ernie still owes me 25.00 for 8th in the Pro Main. I crashed in the 1st turn and they ran the mains so fast and since the next race beat me to the the finish line they sorry no money for you.

In your Bayfront picture I think I know the guy on the right (SE t-shirt). His name was John Gilpatrick and he went on to do a lot in road racing. Don't know if anyone else remembers him.

i raced from 85 to 87, so i'm a couple of years behind some of y'all, but here's my pics:

Hey, thanks for posting that pcture. Brings back some great memories. That was a great day for myself until the main. I think I had won every race up until then. Did I mention I'm still owned 25.00 from that main. LOL

i quit cuz i got burned out. we chased points all over the state every weekend and just got tired. i think the NPSA was dissolving in florida, too. i considered going to the NBL (with a great sponsership deal from a local schwinn shop), but when i broke my clavical just playing around, i decided to quit racing altogether.

the pics are a little small. when i scanned them, they were poster sized so i made them smaller so they wouldn't be so annoying. ocala was a fun track. the last turn was called a european (sp?). it was a sweeping, flat uphill turn that caused some real legburn. it was also seemingly 2x as long as the tracks nowadays, with a lot less jumps.

Guys I dont know how many of ya were asking about the Ocala track but..... Ive put this info up on a few other posts. I just moved here to Ocala a year ago. I just started riding again a couple months ago. To make a long story short I ended up meeting a guy that use to race at the Ocala track back in the day Pete Arnott well he told me about the Ocala track. A few weeks ago I took a drive out to where he said it was. Well I found it! Its been abandoned its still there just in rough shape. I sent a letter out to the owners to see if they would let me fix her up a little. No response as of yet. Here is a link to some pics I took of it a few weeks ago. Abandoned Ocala track

Well Im about to write them one more letter. I havent gotten any kind of response from the owners at all. I mean not even a no lol. So at this point Im going to write one more letter maybe send it certified mail so that I know that they get it. I havent been back to the site yet. Ive been busy racing on the weekends so I havent had much time to go work on it yet. Dont worry though as soon as I start going there Ill put new pics and posts up.

Where and what ya racin?

I race up in High Springs usually. How ever I have gone up to Middleberg and Ive gone to Orlando. I am currently racing my 04 PK Ripper but I have a Redline Pro Comp and my wife has a Schwinn Qualifier pro. I havent raced anything but the Ripper though. Im racing as a 29 year old rookie but Im going to move up to novice next chance I get. We race on Friday nights usually at High Springs.
