Ok, so today is my boy's last day in the 4th grade so I take the family out to lunch at TGI Friday's. Not long after I sit down, I look up in stunned amazement...a complete Hutch Pro Racer hanging on the wall!!

I am in negotiations with the manager in offering a replacement vintage 80s bike. Heres the parts run down

Hutch Pro Racer frame and fork
Powerlite aluminum bars
DK stem
Uni seat
Dia Compe seat clamp
Takagi 1 piecers
Tuf neck powerdisc and sprocket
Suntour XCIIs
Araya 7X with Suzue high flange
Comp III

This isnt the first time I have seen a bmx bike in a resturant but man, its the nicest one I have ever seen.

Hey is it "DRILLED" for hanging? I know alot of bikes were ruined because they did that..
Good luck bro...

Good point, I looked for that. They ran a screw/bolt through the pedal hole in the crank (removed the inside pedal) and the rest were cables looped around the bars and rear triangle.

Hope you get it!

Here's one of my favorite TGIF surprises.

Criscobath
Apparently it decapitated Yoda and had to pay the ultimate price of spending the next 5 to 10 years in TGIF.

Thats exactly how the Hutch was mounted on the wall, same drive train/pedal and same "way too high" stem height, lol. Instead of Yoda, mine had Darth Vader and Boba Fett masks with a George Bush (elder) statue inbetween. I guess he is the Emperor, lol. Its my guess that the decor is very carefully thoughtout and more than likely a District Manager would have serious issues with anything being replaced or moved around.
Criscobath
That was the opinion I got from the manager at the above store. However, the manager took my name and number and said he would call me when they change decor......... whenever that is. From what I understand the theme changes about every 5 years. I'll be waiting.

Go for it bro...

I'm not trying to stir up anything... I swear...

Is that the kind of stuff a certain member of the ebay community, who is very active buying vbmx, does with the bikes he buys?

I heard he was a artist of some sort.

If I saw a bike like that hanging on the wall in a restaurant, I'd have to leave. Because it would drive me NUTS. What a waste. Luckily for me I probably wouldn't eat at TGI Friday's anyway.

I've seen a 2 GT Dyno's in 2 different TGI restaurants in London along with a couple of MKII choppers, but no hutch yet. I'll keep looking.

the guy buying the bikes for TGIF goes buy Huntcart on ebay. I have sold 4 or 5 bikes over the last year.

Another restraunt that has very old vintage bikes is the Bombay Bicycle Club. We had some very neat looking bikes...but they werent BMX!! We had one or 2 bikes from the late 1800's and some from the early 1900's to mid 1940's. Framestar...I hope you read this. I know there are still some Bombay Bicycle Clubs around. I think there is still one open in Indy, and one in Springfield,Il.,they are based out of Tarzania,Ca. If you know of any Bombay Bicycle Clubs...be sure to check them out! But you will never find BMX there!!!!
