I kept her picture in the left rear pocket of my OP shorts which I wore with boxer shorts sticking out from under the legs.

Let me name most of those female racers in the BMXA of San Diego top 100. Pic was taken either late December 1978 or Jan. 1979.
Left to right....
A) No ID
B) Danni Rioux (Rio)/ Anaheim Bike Center / Gary Turner
C) Pam Cobel
D) Michelle McCourt / S&W Bike Shop
E) Amber Rutherford/ Lakeside Bike Shop (remember the little brown hat.. helmets?)
Danni Rioux was a popular girl at the track.
I remember talking to Pam Cobel's mom cause I was too scared to talk to her.
Michelle McCourt was a very nice person. Her brother John McCourt was a fast racer too.
I liked cute little Amber Rutherford. I used to race her brother Reid all the time in 78' and 79'. Heard in high school they were in that class F.F.A. a.k.a. Future Farmers of America.

the look on Pam's face says "ugh, there's that Ricardo guy staring at me again."
Michelle's look says "you got NO chance with her, Rickie."

Jumpin' Jesus there Rick...thrown under the bus on 2 threads. Sometimes old wounds hurt more than new ones. Pam looked pretty hot, is she the girl that was your girlfriend only she didn't know it? There is something about the way chicks looked back in the 70's.....

Memories linger. I can remember my last words to Pam as I left Rancho. She looked at me, I looked at her with nothing but love in my heart (and a 9th place ribbon in my hand)
"Sooo, what is your phone number in case hell does freeze over?"

I knew a girl that had the same effect on me. I'm sure we all did. I'm with ya Reilley!
The one that did it to me was a girl named Kim Litto in school. I could talk to any girl but her. My tongue would just swell up and my mouth would dry up. I couldn't say a word. She knew it too.

Ricks like the Chinese guy (they called him China Man) in that movie "Crash". The van ran him over and he was stuck under if for most of the movie?

In Northern California, the babe with the Farrah Faucet flaired-hair, that every BMXer (like myself) dreamed of hooking up with as A&B's Rose Deaton.
She too had quick brothers -- Jim and Jeff Deaton.
...
Don't feel bad Reilly -- I'm sure every track has similar stories of heartbreak.

I think so, she had a couple of brothers who were fast and tolerated me hanging around.
When I saw a shot of Linda in the Schwinn promo short on the Joe Kid DVD, my heart skipped a beat!
haven't seen or heard from her in 25+ years...she sure was cute!

She was going out with a factory Profile rider named Darren May for a while. Some of the visiting pro's from bitd might remember him.
