Post a pic of yourself. One racing, one jumping.

Me, Johnny Johnson. 1983 OMAS Factory Team. Lakeside Superbowl track, Lakeside California.
I'm on a Hutch frame, fork, and bars. Araya 7L rims, DT spokes, and OMAS Series BPP hubs.

Me leading, Mike King in second. 10- 11 open class. 1979 San Diego Velodrome track.
I'm on a CYC Ames Stormer. I really liked it even though it was too small for me.

i wasn't much good for jumping or racing either. When this picture came back from the photomat I said to my father, "daaaaaaaad! you're supposed to take the picture when I'm totally flat!" and he said, "I did."

This one is me racing @ the 1981 Jag World Championships.

Hey bbohlmann, where in St. Louis were those trails? I used to jump at a place that was either in Chesterfield or Ballwin, I don't know exactly how we got there as it's been more than 20 years. I lived in Ballwin not far from Henry School. The jumps I went to were sorta near Target I think.

Here is one from 2004 Deseret peak BMX track.

Here's one of me around 1980 jumping at the trails next door to my house when I was about 12.

Matt_Raymer
Nov. '75 at the Encino Velodrome. A few days after the NBA Grand National at Randalll Ranch - the stickers on my helmet are from bike inspection at Randall. This is during practice and I'm riding Eric Richter's Mongoose. Russ Okawa photos. Props to VMBX'er Rich Courteau for hand painting my visor. Yes, that is Cash Matthews in the background.

Still at the Encino Velodrome, but during the race. Cash and I had just gotten our new Webco's, and we much preferred the old (solid-gusset) original frames. Plus our bikes were equipped with a Shimano coaster brake that locked up if you pedalled backwards a fraction of an inch. We switched to freewheels in '76.

John, I am always amazed with your clicked Learys at that age. I guess hanging out with Timmy Judge helps!!
John McNiel
ha! thanks pk...yeah, Tim had more than a little to do with that stuff! Not such a bad influence, I guess...

OK this site has just gone too weird. Yesterday I replied to a thread on a similar site. The guy who started it said something about cyclist getting licenses and I berated him and went on about how bicycles are the one thing that has always made me feel free, blah-blah-blah. But anyhow, I brought up this spot in the woods I used to ride at when I was a kid. It was a little area in the woods in suburban St. Louis with dirt jumps and it's been well over 20 years since I was last there. bbohlmann just posted pics of the same spot. There could not have been all that many kids that even rode there and I live 600 miles away. What's even stranger is I have not even thought about those jumps in years until yesterday, about 2 hours before bbohlmann's post.

this is a way cool thread

sorry my pix are newer. I have old ones too, but these are recent favorites. this is from Rockford a couple years ago. It must be practice because I'm ahead of Woody Woodruff and he is sitting down. I like the shot though. and for my jumping shot, I offer this one taken at the skatepark last month by my friend Joe Gall:

Cool, another freerider!

I love the skatepark photo with the dragged shutter, I like to shoot stuff like that myself.
In regards to my last post on this thread, I just got an email from bbohlman with photos from my childhood riding spot. This is still amazing me, through this site I actually got to see the old jumps where I used to live over 20 years ago. Damn.
