Does anyone know of a good chrome plating service in the Chicago area?? I'm looking to have a frame and fork done and can't seem to find any place that will do it. Thanks in advance, Sean

Look up Steamwood Plating in your phone book.

If that falls short - call a local hot rod type auto parts store. You can typically get a place that does car parts to chrome just about anything.

I have had a couple parts done at Streamwood Plating and they did an awesome job! Flawless to say the least. It did cost a bit but I got what I paid for. For a set of bars and forks it cost $125.

Too bad there isn't a place like Rod's that's advertised here that does chroming for Vintagebmx that people would know that does quality work . Sounds like sort of a hit or miss in looking for a good chromer for a good price . I may have a couple of parts in the near future that would need to be rechromed but when I go to the next car /rod show , I'll ask around there as that's where you'll find a reference for a chromer .
