3rd Crown-Haitai International is scheduled on 6 Oct 2012.

Stromberg won in 2010, Joey B won in 2011.

Both previous events had many international BMX stars (with organizers paying riders accomodation expenses and giving an allowance for airfare)

Who's going this year?

This has been a great event that I have been honored to attend the last 2 years. The USA riders and I will be leaving on Wednesday and it should be a fun event. Invited riders included David Herman, Nic Long, Connor Fields, Maris Strombergs, Barry Nobles, Martijn Scherpen, Caroline Buchanan, Joey Bradford, Darin Goodwin, Yvan Lapraz, and others from Thailand, France, the Chez, and other countries.

The event itself is on October 6th, a UCI Class 5 race, with live TV coverage in Korea. The event is sponsored by Crown-Haitai, which is a food company in Korea. The track is a bit different as it is entirely made out of concrete and has a typical BMX track layout. The track is located in a flood area, so thats one of the reasons its concrete, as well as there is no cost of upkeep.

This is great trip and the Korean Cycling Federation takes care of all the riders and team managers, with some great prize money to the riders in the main event. Ill do my best to update from the event on twitter @DoubleAPete

Here is the breakdown of the main event prize money.

Prize Money USD Payout
MEN WOMEN
First Place $6000 $4000
Second Place $4000 $1800
Third Place $2000 $1000
Fourth Place $1000 $600
Fifth Place $800 $400
Sixth Place $600 $200
Seventh Place $400 $150
Eighth Place $200 $100
TOTAL $23,250
Men $15000 Women $8250

I think the media will be there, too.
I'm pretty sure that my mate John Hearn from 2024 magazine is going.

Kind of funny, but the track in Korea reminds me of the Konkreto track on the Mad Skills BMX game.

Men's Final

Congrats to Quick Nic. Nice payday.

Any chance an SX track will be built for next year's event?

Man that stinks, my man Nobles was fighting in the 2 and 3 spots until he went down in turn 2.

Glad to hear that CB took the girls win.
