Moving it to December isn't going to work since USABMX uses half of December as a points-tabulation and regroup time. I would bet less than 10% of the population has the week after Christmas off anyway- it's far easier to take two days to extend Thanksgiving into a long weekend, for most of us at least. Not everyone can beg off family Christmas like they can Thanksgiving. Weather gets even more iffy the further into December you go for those of us who drive.
I see the potential draw for Striders to grow into full-blown BMXers- however letting 5-year olds who are clipped in in full gear ride a balance bike is ridiculous. Sorry, E, not cute at all. 2-year olds at our local track- maybe cute. Learn to ride a bike- it's not that hard.
How about putting the parade of states after supper on Thanksgiving? It'd get people pumped up and not delay the races Friday or Saturday. Why in the world start racing on Saturday at 10 a.m.? I don't get the logic at all. Do I want to go hang around Tulsa on Saturday afternoon? No, not really. Sorry to say, Tulsa isn't our dream destination- we come to race and experience the Grands- not to have one round and then spend the rest of the day sitting at the hotel or entertaining the kids spending bucks doing something else. If you're going to run two rounds then run them Saturday so the 20-30% of riders who don't make it out into semis can stay up late at the Pro Spectacular and NAG 5 challenge and then leave first thing Sunday to go home if they want to.

After reading all of this, I feel kinda bad about complaining about a 6:30am flight to get to the races Friday and a 6:30am flight leaving Tulsa on Sunday.

Seeing lots of conerns about strider races in here... strider races are great for the younger members of the racing family. All in all they don't take that much time to run and they are fun to watch. Just my 2cents
