I know this is kind of early for this but I have an idea for next years National Schedule.

Run all the Nationals before Labor Day weekend and run the East and West races on Labor Day weekend.

Let all the states concentrate on the State finals in the remainder of September.

Run the Redline cup races in October.

Then in November run Disney Cup the first weekend (for a last chance) and then the grands thanksgiving weekend.

This may not be a perfect idea but I thought it would work

wouldn't work in midwest........... only 3-4 months of good weather would make too many back to back races

i know the ABA grand have been on thanksgiving weekend for a long time. do you think that more riders would show up and race if the grands date was moved to an other weekend. the price of plane tickets would be half the price.

That's never going to happen.

More riders? I'm already tired just thinking about that.

You may very well be right about the ABA Grands being forever locked into Thanksgiving, but it surely would be nice to avoid having to deal/fight with holiday crowds, in the air and on the highway. What a thought..............

flights would be cut in half. hotels would be cheapers. i bet the grands would get about 500 more riders for the greatest race on earth

Not sure about the 500 more riders. Thanksgiving week helps a lot of families with having that Thursday and Friday off from work and not having to take vacation days for that time period. So there are pluses and minuses to both.

I'm in for that. I've kept my son racing local this year because I know I'm not flying to OK during Thanksgiving. If it was another weekend, that would change everything I do during the season.

I don't think it would really be any help.
It would mean taking my son out of school on a week where actual work is being done. It's a lot easier taking a couple extra days off in a slow/short week than it would be taking a random week off.
