Not happy!!! Aluminium seat post+steel frame=1 stuck friggin' post!! Considering using a long drill bit and run down the inside of the fluted post. I don't want to twist off, or crack the seat post tube. All that aside, builds are coming along nicely.

I've got the quill of a DK stem stuck in one of my Pro Racer forks... very frustrating. Been soaking it in PB Blaster for weeks - it's not made any difference.

Hey Zombie, what kind of stem is that? Looks like a Torker, but with that standing platform, I'm not sure.

I'm at this point, still haven't started the welding yet, I'm putting it off.

I believe that is an original (and rare) '85 CW California Freestyle stem...

That is going to be a cool build...can't wait to see that one brought back!

Wow, never seen one before. Nice. I like the looks better than the DK Freestyle stem too. Can't wait to see the build. I'll be giving you a run for your money on this one though… (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
Any chance to get some better, larger picts from some different angles?

So I would really like to have all 3 Hutches completed before the end of the build off (the giveaway, which you've seen, mine which will be lavender and Mike's which will be pink).

But, as also previously mentioned, I can't get the other two bikes sent to the powdercoaters until I get the stuck quill out of one of the forks. I already broke the DK stem (knocked the top of it off the quill) and have been soaking it for 3 weeks in PB Blaster. But, time is running out so I broke the MAPP torch out.

(IMG:http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/s720x720/526477_10151096932730415_2081907296_n.jpg)

Once everything was good and hot, I whacked the quill from the top until it moved down about 1/4" inch. Now knowing that the quill was broken free from the rust, I flipped it over and used a 9/16" deep well socket and an extension to knock the quill out. The little ball peen shown here only got it to move about an inch. A 3.5 lb maul allowed me to remove it completely.

The offending quill. The Dirt Skirt was a casualty of friendly fire.

New problem... one of the frames I got off E-bay has only a 18 1/4" top tube and has a seat post broken off about 3-4" down inside of the seat mast. Someone is about to get negative feedback.

Latest update on the Hutch YOU may win: It's going to have the yellow label reissue Tioga Comp 3's on it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

They're coming from Australia but I'll post pics once I have them. Also waiting on the bottom bracket and hubs from Bullseye to finish putting it together!
