Are these true VDC forks?, possible VDC purchase, need to confirm forks. Options

My long time friend from BITD has held onto a VDC he picked up many years ago. He has offered it to for a nice price but we both are unsure of the forks because he can't recall if they came with the frame or not. From pictures they appear to be real VDC forks but for piece of mind I would like to hear from the experts that know more about the old school stuff than my friend and I.

Thanks, my friend thinks they might be redline forks and doesn't want to sell me something that may not be the correct forks. I too think they are VDC but can see how they could look like redline forks from some pictures I have searched. Shows how long he has had this set up and has just put it away and let it sit. I don't even remember when he got it. I don't think I was riding any more at that time.

no not redline, their drop outs were never that far set back.

Ya, sure, ya betcha those are the Voris Dixon forks. Looks like you got something to hang onto there. I guess the story behind the VDC fork is that Voris really liked Chuck Robinson's fork design and did make some like that but much like all things Voris Dixon, he put a bit of his own spin on them.

Ask the man yourself. He's a Realtor in Benson AZ now. A few members have contacted him on stuff and he has been happy to help them out with questions. Call him, get his e-mail and send him the pic's to confirm. IMO they are VDC forks

No, the frame was originally chrome. The original owner left for the service and left it hanging in his garage and the side door was broke. The chrome started to peel off so the current owner my friend had the chrome stripped which was done and a very high end plating shop.
