About the fat guy...
Always rode around the neighborhood growing up with friends. Rode a lot of flat and street getting into my teens, sucking at it but loving riding all the time. Never made it to a track until I was 16 and could drive myself. Went a lot just messing around with friends until I crashed my truck as I turned 17 and ended up getting into cars for the next 9 years or so and forgetting about bikes. Started getting back into bikes a couple years ago off and on and playing at the track again. Finally signed up the end of 2010 and did my first race at the end of the season. Rode a lot at the beginning of last year, got in some gate practices and 2 races and then work and all kinds of other stuff got in the way the second half of the year. I'm now within riding distance of the track and plan on being there all the time.
27 now, will be in 19-27 Novice this year. Dropped about 25lbs a little over a year ago and have maintained, but still have another 20-25lbs to go. I've been good at following routines to drop an initial 15lbs or so and then slacking over the years, been a long cycle of working out for a couple months and slacking for 10.
Goals for 2012...
Hit the ~180lbs mark and maintain it through the year. Ride in 15 races. Get manuals down on the street. Get bunnyhops up over 2ft. consistently. and stay consistent with my plans and riding.
This will be my first time training with any kind of sports goal in mind since I was a teen, don't expect any amazing work-outs. I'm going to start out slow, small, and simple and I'll get more serious as I get back into the swing of it. Always open to suggestions and tips as well.
