Was looking at the pics from Fridays time trials on bmx mania and noticed Barry Nobles might be running a 2 speed on his bike.

Looks like they had to cut the dropout out a but to make it fit. I wonder how much weight this adds too.

That derailleur is 197 grams, so add that, the cable, a little extra chain, extra rear cog, shifter... probably not all that much weight added and if it gives the advantage of a little extra gear before you spin out, probably worth every bit.

Dunno, the fastest quals had single gears. I have found many times that things don't really catch on until someone starts winning with a particular part.
