Unridden 1994 Roadmaster Mountain Peak Options

Hello everyone,

I picked up this Roadmaster at a Goodwill for about as much change as I could dig out of my pocket lint. It looks completely unridden ever and mint except for a few moving-it-around dings. I know it's no top-of-the-line bike, but do I have something here to hang on to?

What's there to know about this bike, and are there any people out there still interested in them? I want to keep it if it's a good one, but, since I just picked up a nice old Redline BMX that I want to use as a daily rider and maybe restore some day, I'm not as tempted to keep it--except maybe for the fact that it's a new old bike.

(BTW, I was going to ask how to date it by serial number, but I saw the codes on the Shimano shifter levers: S E and S F, making them--at least--1994.)

Not really a collector quality frame or components.

Right. Kind of what I thought. I knew it wasn't top end, but I figured it wasn't the $100 junk they sell at Walmart with the Roadmaster name. Still tempted to keep it as a rider for those rare opportunities I get to ride trails, though. Cost me all of $14.

I've had no problems with Roadmasters, well, except for a trash find, but that was a chinese bike from wal-mart.

It is nice to see an American made bike for once. I think Roadmaster was bought out in 2002 by pacific cycle, but I could be wrong. Maintain it right like any other bike and it should do good for some typical riding. As said, not good for competetion, though.
