Closest bmx track(s) to Boone, NC? Options

Hey guys I'm moving in at App State in a couple of weeks. I want to still try to make it to the track when possible but it looks like my closest track is Tanglewood which is an hour and a half. Is there any tracks that I overlooked that may be closer?

Also does anyone know whats going on with the track that was in Wilkesboro? I guess it is gone... too bad considering that was right down the road.

Tanglewood is close, a great track run by great people. Hornets Nest-also a great track & people- is about the same drive time for you. Also, check out Morristown, TN. I like the first straight gut check here. Weaverville, NC, may be an option, also. The track in Wilkesboro was basically run by city park personnel & never really had a chance to develop properly. Some promotion and an enthusiastic track director could probably have made a go there. The last time I was by there, the track was still in place (right beside the skate park) but overgrown & neglected. Spartanburg, SC is not too much further. So, lots of choices, just a little drive time involved. I'm north of Boone, so if you want to hook up & share expenses, lemme know.
