All current NBL license holders, both "paid in full" and "monthly plan" members will receive a USA BMX License that is good until December 31, 2011. Discard what was said earlier about the monthly members paying for memberships, that is no longer the case.

If you hold dual licenses, ABA and NBL, you will get a USA BMX license until December 31, 2011 or the expiration date on your ABA card, which ever is longer.

This post only pertains to the payment of membership license fees. I am not sure how this affects voucher credits at this time, more will be available soon.

My source is pretty darn reliable for this, and the official paperwork will be out very soon. But for those monthly payment riders who were concerned about having to purchase a new license, your worries are over.

Track Directors and Track Operators keep checking your email as things are moving quickly in this process and they are very fluid.

Great. This is how it should be. We don't need to be having more dissatisfied racers during this time. At my local track we can't even get a lot of riders coming to race for free. Thanks

This will make it much easier for tracks too, it would be much more difficult the way they said it would be yesterday.

If this is true, then I have to say I am so happy to be on board with the USABMX crew. I commend them for biting the bullet, helping the tracks, and keeping the growth of BMX in their crosshairs. As a track we were prepared to pay for all of our rider's memberships, but this would be a huge help to our organization.

True, but Nbl tracks and riders are already going through a lot with all this, they should have known from the beginning that trying to charge this membership fee was going to cause problems and confusion and was a bad idea.

It is hard to stand back far enough to see the whole picture on this one. Unfortunately Tom, we can see it from a lot of angles. Kinda political - so it's not going to be pretty. In a month, we'll barely remember this and if they do what they can to make this as good as possible - which they have from everywhere I'm standing - then I'm going to grin and bear it.

Great just got the email..

Dear NBL Track Director:

This is a new and exciting time for our sport as we combine the membership of the ABA and NBL, and as such the process is evolving daily. The team at USA BMX in the past 48 hours has received great feedback from ABA and NBL Track Directors alike. Based on these discussions it has been determined that the proposed plan did not best serve the membership or the tracks. To offer the maximum membership benefit possible, we have modified the plan that was presented on June 21, 2011, to read as follows:

“Any NBL rider with a valid NBL Membership, whether, monthly, annual, or 30 day, will receive a USA BMX membership for class and cruiser valid through December 31, 2011 valid at all ABA and NBL tracks.”

Any new or NBL renewal members will be required to purchase a new USA BMX license as previously outlined. Additionally we want to clarify that riders with membership in both ABA and NBL will receive a USA BMX expiration date of December 31, 2011 or their current ABA expiration date, whichever is greater.

Based on the email sent yesterday, June 22, 2011-For current NBL members (Annual, Monthly, or Temp sold within the last 30 days) skip step 3 of the membership form since these members will automatically receive a free USA BMX membership valid until December 31, 2011.

Additionally, we are working diligently to update the list of NBL track contacts. If for any reason you did not get the above mentioned letter it is below.

Sincerely,

The USA BMX Team

Man these USA BMX guys are making a hell of an effort to make this as pleasant as possible during the transition.

The best thing is that this level of customer service continues well after this transition period.

Amen! I spoke with Brad & Amy at ABA office today. Very helpful, and explained things perfectly.
