We are trying to plan a trip to this years Disney Cup but being our first time I'm looking for some info. The ORL BMX site doesn't have anything.

Mainly, I'm curious where the race is held and what hotel(s) anyone recommends? We would like to stay on the resort and was curious if there are any discounts related to Disney as well?

Any tips or info is truly appreciated. Its my boys birthday weekend and we are going to try and make it a surprise...he knows we might race on his birthday, he doesn't know it will be near Disney. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The track is not really close to Disney and in, what I felt, a scary part of town.. be prepared to drive a little to feel comfortable. Any of the places on International Drive are near the touristy action and will be reasonably priced. We went in 09 and had a good time, of course all is different this year, new location, outdoors, etc....

Bummer, that will be much harder sell than if were closer to Disney...especially if it is in a sketchy area. I've been down there and got away from the tourist area and couldn't believe how bad it was. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) either way thanx for the input. :/

It is too bad they moved it. The arena where it was the first 2 years was extremely nice and hotels were directly across the street. We literally could have walked and the air conditioned building was nice when it was 100 degrees out last year...we drove out to the track where it will be and my wife was shocked at the area...

We have raced all the previous Disneys. We rented a condo, 3 bedroom or four bedroom. Full kitchen, laundry, private pool. Look on the web for www.magicalmemories.com. We always rent through Magical Memories at a place named Terra Verde, a gated, security guarded facility. Fantastic unit and then a club house also. The 4 bedroom was about $119 a night. We shared with other racers so it came out about $30 each. They have a bunch of good properties. Most are close to the track. Fantastic race, you should go

There are no hotels near the track and if there were some, you wouldn't want to stay there. The track isn't that close to Disney but its not that far either. The track is a short drive to Universal. Terra Verde is a 40 min drive but you will get a lot of room for a great price but it is south of the Disney in Kissimmee.

Lake Buena Vista Resort and Spa is ok, it is close to the highway, it is close Disney, it has a huge pirate ship pool, it is next to an outlet mall, it has 2 and 3 bedroom condo type nightly rentals that are reasonably priced.

I heard Sheraton Safari is ok located on Apopka Vineland Rd. Prices are around $65 and it appears clean. The hotel is a little older than the pictures make it out to be online but still a good deal and close to the highway and close to Disney.

Or you can always try Marriott Harbour Lakes, or the Blue Heron.

I hope this helps

Just wanted to add this to all out of towners who have never been/seen the Pine Hills area where the Orlando track is. It is one of the worst ghettos in the Orlando area! Do not stay anywhere near the track. Pine Hills or "crime hills" is truely a bad place. I would go with any hotel listed by the ABA, don't try to save a buck going cheap near the track, you will regret it. I grew up in Orlando and this was my home track. Not trying to scare anyone, just want to make sure everyone has a good, safe time!
