I mentioned starting this on the NBL announcement thread. What are the typical payouts for the various pro classes nowadays? We all see the "big check" pics of the winners, but what is everyone else making? NBL/ABA Elite races, AA, A, Women, Vet?

More curiosity than anything. I know BITD BMX Plus! used to show the amounts. Who knows, maybe the sanctions will be embarrassed enough if it's out there that a little more money will be paid out?

Anyone?

xmas classic (only 9 elite men) the payout was
750
600
450
300
270
240
210
180

thing that sucks about this is, elites know the nbl payout is low, so theyre hesitant to go to some elite races that are somewhat far away from them, then the ones that actually make the trek out there end up with this small payout, and even though its still a difficult race (its elite men, still), since theres only one or 2 racks, they are the ones that get punished financially for showing up.

i have heard though that things may change????

also, i raced lexington va last week. 15 riders on day two, big a. i crashed in the main and took the snowman, which left me with 60 bucks. it cost 70 to race that day.

Ken, I believe what it will take to get the purses up to a level that is more fair is for the NBL and ABA to find a national sponsor for the elite series. I believe that Subway Resteraunts would be a great one. Can you imagine the brand loyalty that would be gained if they would do this. Most people who compete at the highest levels of any sport eat a very healthy diet. If someone could sell them on this idea, I would eat subway every day.

Quite honestly... Subway already has BMX on lock. I personally dont think they would gain much from investing money into BMX as they already have a product at a fair price that answers what BMX'ers need. I would hope someone could convince them to hop on our wagon, but unless you backlash and dont order a sub at your next national they already have you...

Im a togo's guy though so what do I know?
