Ok everyone, I really need the BMX community to come together and help me out.
Some of you may have seen my posts in the following regarding my meeting with the county commissioners on getting this building (pics in here) to start an indoor track for next fall:
I would like to get a petition started that has as many signatures as possible to show the county the need/want for something like this. It doesn't matter how far away you are. I just want a list of as many signatures as possible.
PLEASE TELL EVERYONE ABOUT THIS!
Post a reply in here - a simple sentance that states your name, state, age, how many racers there are in your family, and how long you have been racing. I will cut and paste all into a word document that I will compile up to the last possible moment to allow for as many signatures as possible. My deadline for turning in the proposal is Jan. 22.
Also, I will be personally contacting a few folks in here and asking for letters from them - addressed to the county - stating their involvement with BMX, and the postive atmosphere it can bring to a community. If you would like to write a letter - and I haven't contacted you directly, please feel free to write something up (as business-like as you can) and email them to me:
mresailor@verizon.net
Thanks everyone - I know we can make this happen!
Tony
(Ps - I am not doing this to get a Vintage Flame shirt either (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) - I really want this to happen and need as much support as possible.)

Tony..I sent you an email, sorry it took two days to respond but weekends are spent half buried in Snow and not in front of my nice warm, cozy keyboard in the shop. Be more than happy to help and am actually looking forward to it.
Kevin
Tony..also, set up a link somewhere on here that will go to your petition...might work easier that way.

Kevin Czekalski, 48 years old...owner of Plains Bike Shop & White Sox Dirt Jumping Park, Plains, Pa. Began my involvement in BMX in 1979, operator of 5 tracks (3 of them indoor) 2 BMX teams & had the honor of being involved with the ABA as National Race Announcer.
To whom it may concern:
The facility that is about to be proposed to you is one that is sorely needed in the Mid Atlantic/Northeastern region of the country. You have a unique opportunity to bring the sport of BMX racing to your community. By doing so and becoming involved in what is now the newest Olympic sport you have the opportunity to showcase to the region all of what you have to offer the youth of today.
Be a progressive community. Become part of the biggest youth sports movement today. BMX Racing!
Kevin R. Czekalski

Tony, I live on the Eastern Shore also. I helped with running the Blue Diamond ABA track that was up in Delaware a couple of years back along with the old Lums Pond track in the 80s. I've done everything from bringing YMCA kids out to the tracks to teach them how to ride, to giving free clinics for current riders. I raced the 2006 UCI Worlds in Brazil, 2006 ABA NAG rider in 28-35X and also raced professionally in the 1980s/1990s. I deal with the DNR at times as my son and I hunt the WMAs in the area. If you need help I can lend a hand. I'll draft a letter for the cause. If you need some involvement with the presentation meeting I might be able to make it. My son is 9 and races also when we get a chance to. Having a track in the area would be the kickstart we need.

Thanks everyone! Please keep the petition going! Lets get 500 signatures!
@ Deluxx bmx - Thanks - I don't have a number to call you at the shop... Do you think that you could get each team memeber to sign? With 25 riders - that would get us really going....
@ Leadsled1 - Thanks for the office - I would love to have as many people at the meeting as possible. A letter would be great as well!
