Could it be the Springfield OH track after they took out the bridge????

Dont think so they never had trees or shade [if this was 1st turn]may be last turn but didnt think shade covered the straight away

looks like the 2nd turn at West Jeff. to me. Is this rider from Ohio?

That announcer's tower looks like Nashville. Springfield OH first turn had a banked turn, but was flat down low with grass like that-- I know ,cause I got DQ'ed in that turn for cutting the track at the Springfield Nat in '84, 15X semi, (I think). There was no white line and I did not go in the grass. I low highed without contact. It was clean as can be. Bob T. wouldn't talk to me about it or anyone on my team (Funway). After investigation by our TM, it turned out the corner marshall who called it had an afilliation w/ the rider who took 5th. Funny, right after this went down, they chalked the turn, ha. Nice, huh?

It could be Springfield, but it would have to be only if they took out the bridge. Maybe the first pic is a different track? Brookville? Maybe? I dunno...I had already quit racing or was close to it by this era. It looks like '86 or later.

Nope cant be springfield =no trees .Thier last turn was a 180 not a 150 degree.i agree its west jeff prolly but it isnt the 2nd turn its the last turn .
Its mike kiniyalocts from ohio riding his dads cruiser i think.

I'm pretty sure I had quit racing nationals by the time these pics were taken,
But Damn why did they fill in those great doubles going into the first turn at Nashville,
Or was this at the time when the NBL Banned all double jumps ????

I guess it is me, but I sure don't remember the track...

I RARELY raced cruiser. The fact that all 4 of us in the pic are Ohio guys, tells me that it MUST be an Ohio track. Donnie and Jim were from Northern OH and I was from SW OH, so it must have been a state race?

Definitely NOT Springfield for the aforementioned reasons. BTW...has anyone been by the old Lagonda location in the last few years? My Dad and I drove out there last year when I was back home visiting family and for the most part the area looks about the same except the area where the track WAS is all filled in. The road over the flood wall is in the same place but that is about it.

As far as it being West Jeff...I don't recall the track being quite that wide through the last two straights and final corner. Does anyone know when WJ shutdown?

Was told by the guy i got it from it was ft wayne but i dont believe thats accurate.Ft wayne had a j first turn with a double or step up coming out .The shaded last straight and angle does seem to be west jeff,but dont remember the straight before the last turn being that down hill.
Yes i was at springfield around 98 and acuually drove my car around the old bmx track-the bushes in turn 2 and near finish line were still there .
The new springfield track[coming this spring hopefully]is supposed to be in same area as the old one.]
