OK, was passing a bike rack at the homeless shelter and found a cruiser apparently abandoned. I am going to try to get a pic next time I pass, but I was wondering if someone might be able name it from the description.

It was chrome, with one peice cranks, silver/chrome tuf neck, landing gear (not stamped - fake?) and the rear end was not a looptail, but the rear dropouts had two or three holes on the upper portion. No gusset, but pretty nice welds.

A Kuwahara maybe???

Appreciate your help.

For Kuwi 24" ID - is there a serial number under the bracket?

Is the head tube 5"?

If it had a 5 inch head tube, flat brake bridge, and double thickness dropouts, then it is possibly a Kuwahara. Did it look like this?

Kuwahara 24 frame

I think that looks most like it from all of the ones in the museum.

I guess it could be a dept. store POS but it had decent parts on it.

What year did they start stampking Landing Gears?

no reason why the would not be LGs.

It could be a Cycle Pro 24" - similar dropouts to Kuwis.

Pics are good - lol

Thats a thought.... Aren't Landing Gears 4 inch long steerers? Maybe they are modified.

You need to sneak up and take some photos, covert operation styles... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) And if it is a Kuwahara, buy that sucker real quick..LOL

LOL, yes, pics would be ideal at this point.

Well, I will be going back soon.

The tires are nearly flat and it appears not to have moved in a while.

It has some new school parts on it, but with an oxy bath, it might be something.

Thanks, this may be my first "found" score as there isn't very much of any OS stuff where I live.
