Well I'm going to post it here for sale for him and if there isn't any interest I may buy it from him. If I did I'd like to return it to stock if at all possible but I'd need a lot of help from people to let me know what's correct and what's not. I'd probably just ride around the park, no beating on it for sure but definitely not part it out. When it's complete like this I think people should leave them complete unless the parts are way off, in this case I have no clue what's original and what isn't. Stupid question I know but what would be considered as a fair asking price for this? He's thinking of over $500 but if I'm just going to catch hell for posting it for him then I'm not going to do it. I just don't need that crap really.
Thanks

there you go, sounds like you have a nice entrance back into the hobby.

they are teasing about the measurements. it was a GHP joke from a doomed freestyle thread.

Since you are beyond the monetary value it lets you think about the things we talk about around here:

Do you keep it as is, survivor?
do you clean it up and ride it?
do you part it out and sell on ebay so you can buy a freestyle bike?
do you research a catalog pic of the original bike and return it to stock?
etc.

I'd start by sending a polite message to Greg Hill and ask if he might happen to have a scan of the original complete bike.

good luck and keep us updated on your progress.

doh! we are back to what it's worth.

ok, since this question is unknown yet important to you, do one of these 2 things.

watch ebay for a couple of months and get a feel for similar completes, non-US made.
post at bmxmuseum with a best offer, but you'll probably get zero responses or 10zillion lowballs.

the market is volatile and fickle. there is ZERO WAY anyone here can tell you the value if we wanted.

for example, i gave away a set of maximizer tires in red this winter.....yet someone just posted they'd pay 500 bucks for a set. you just CAN NOT predict the market when it comes to personal needs.

make sense?

Yeah, I didn't want to ask the question on value but was forced to. Thanks and I completely understand the market thing. How do you tell if it's US made or not? I just sent a message to Greg Hill and I hear he's pretty good for returning messages.
Thanks everybody for the great advise and for being patient with me.

Andy D. is THE man when it comes to GHP detail.
what he said above is going to be exactly what it is, my man.

I spoke/emailed Greg Hill and he schooled me on some things about the bike. He also said depending on the market anywhere from $250-$500 so my boy is out of line in my book. I'll let him post it up when he's ready, thanks everybody.

This is my GHP 24 that I scored last year. Not all old parts, but a nice rider.

Hey thanks BridgeCity - but I'm still learning too - lol.

The Dec. 1984 BMX Action has a full test on this bike listed with all the parts it came with.
The mag has not been scanned and up for download yet though.

That much??? Really??? I buy lots of GHP stuff, and I would never pay 250 for that bike.
