Things turned out to be a little worse then expected. Big Daddy will have surgery on his face this Monday ( Yeah he thought that sounded funny ). He has a broken eye socket bone, Cheekbone and temple bone. The Doc. will place small Ti plates to hold everything in place while it heals. Out about a month or so..........Big Daddy obviously is bummed out. If any friends and fans would like to drop him a line and wish a speedy recovery www.BigDaddyERupe@aol.com or just post up here.

That must had been one mean faceplant to have such severe injuries while wearing a full face helmet! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) I don't want to contemplate what would had happened with a open face helmet. I wish him well and I know this will not slow him down!

Rupe is one of the greatest inspirations for all of us "mature" individuals who are still chasing the BMX dream. He's the man. Let's hope the fact that he is momentarily "down" won't mean that he is "out". Hang in there Big Daddy. You've redefined what is possible for grown-ups. Keep on keepin' on!

I just sent Eric and email. He responded right away and is doing well. He heads into surgery on Monday. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers he is no doubt one of the nicest guys in the sport and is a true champion. I have been a fan of Eric's for years and consider him a friend, he was one of the first old timers that came up to me when I first got back into the sport and gave me a big hug. Thanks Eric!

If you do want to drop him an email take out the www. that Mr. Tech Savy Jerry Bradford listed above. Love you Jerry! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
