Well having a hard time finding a new school gold chain that I like. Can I use an older chain thats new on a current race bike and expect it to perform? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How much do you need to "like" an old chain? The new chains work better than the old ones and you should retire them after 6 months to a year of riding anyway. Toss it and buy a new chain!

Its not that I like the old chain its that I was looking for a certain looking chain that I couldnt seem to find. How ever I did find the chain I was looking for on a european site. Seems that SRAM keeps more of its chains in europe rather than here in the states.
