That U2 collection sounds awesome Mike.
I was hugely into U2 from about '82. I clearly remember the first time I saw that amazing Red Rocks concert.
I stalked the local record bar every day for weeks back in 1984 when Unforgettable Fire was due for release. Still have that LP here with all the paper inserts too. Also bought the mini-album of that too. Again, still here in LP. Don't know why, but despite trying, I have really struggled to get into U2 in the same way since "Pop".
I'm the same, though when Achtung Baby came out, that was it for me. I just couldn't get into it.
I made contact with a record shop in Dublin. Anything u2 they got in (used or brand new), they would hold on to, and then fax me the details, and I would fax back if I wanted it or not. I would then organise a bank draft and post it, and they would post me the records. This was before the internet. Great days. They located REALLY rare stuff for me.
