Got them on a complete CW cruiser that a local friend dug up. I paid a good price and just took the gamble on what they were. Rest of the parts are decent, but the only thing to give me my money's worth are the cranks. Thanks for the information. -Chip

Chip are they the same cranks from your email? If so I was wrong. They looked like second generation in the photos you sent. They are certainly first generation in the photos that are posted above.

From what I've seen in previous postings here, The 1st gens have totaly flat faces while the 2nd gens have the oblong depression for the sticker. These 2nd gens (as pictured above) were produced into 1984.
Of course, the 3rd gens (that nobody seems to care about) started in 1984. These began the "oval arms" design with no logo stampings (Anybody know if these came with factory logo stickers or decals??). In 1992 Profile bagan stamping the logo on the faces -- as they are still produced today.
