I'm looking to buy a new stem for my road bike but I'm wondering how do you measure the length? I see they come in 90mm to 150mm. I want to get one a little shorter than mine.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the measurement is from the center of the stembolt to the center of where the handlebars sit. Can anyone confirm?

A quidk check on the correct stem length can be done like this: with your hands on the brake hoods and you in the saddle, you should look down to see your front axle and it should be hidden by the handlebars. Hope this helps.
