Hey, does anybody know if there are differences in the frames of 83 and 84 Californians? I have an 83 with an an 83 Californian decal on the seat tube, but I've been told the frame is actually an Expert, not a Californian. The decals look to be original so I'm not fully trusting this guy's assessment. Mongoose guys: Take a look and give me some opinions. I don't see many 83 Californians around but I have come across quite a few 84s.

Expert and Cali are the same frames - just the parts selections were different
83 models were tri moly - front tri was chromoly, rear was steel
In 84 the made them in full chromoly - because one of they're top 15 expert riders preferred them over the PC - so they were made full for that yr - a few rolled over through the early part of 85 --- but they went back to tri-moly in 85
That's why 84 models sell for more then 83 or 85 etc...
