Track Upgrades at St.Pete BMX

It has always been considered a track with tremendous potential and now the good people who run St.Pete BMX are trying to realize those expectations. The first step in the process was to listen to the input of riders, especially the Pros, and adjust the track to meet their needs. Some of the those adjustments have been made and this last weekend, the track was put to the test.

The first jump has been extended into a long tabletop with a gradual decline. You can hit this thing as fast as you possibly can and your landing will be safe and easy. The other two changes were both on the second straight which now consists of split doubles. One side is sharp and high like a Pro set and other is mellower.

Cape Coral BMX Seeking Volunteers

The track will be closed for the next two weeks for our rebuild. Please remember that this is done for all riders and that there is something for all to do, we are all volunteers. The more that come out to give a helping hand the quicker it will be back open. If you normally come to skills clinics every other Monday still come out to pick up a rake. If you normally come on Tuesday and Thursday for practice still come and help run the packer. If you normally come out on Saturday nights for a race come help clean up around the track.

Amanda Carr Prepares for the Olympic Season

With only four months until the start of the games in London, Florida's Amanda Carr is taking every available opportunity to prepare herself for the coming season. Currently sitting number 3 on the USA Cycling BMX Power Rankings, she is in a prime position to launch herself onto the 2012 Olympic team. Amanda is approaching the games with laser-like focus, setting aside all other BMX races in favor of the five upcoming UCI Supercross events. She has split her time between practicing at her home track of Charlotte BMX in Punta Gorda, Florida, where she is Track President and Chula Vista, California where she is being trained by Coach, Greg Romero.

Amanda Carr has been racing BMX for 15 years. She has won numerous races on the State, National and World Championship levels, with her first UCI World title in Paris 2005. She then grew into an elite Supercross racer scoring 5th place at the televised London Olympic test event in 2011.

Corsa Racewear is proud to promote the efforts of this dedicated athlete, and is happy to announce that Amanda has taken an interest in their 'Unleashed' line of clothing. She was impressed with the quality of the racewear and is thrilled to work with this emerging company. She will be wearing Corsa Racewear gloves and pants during her pursuit of Olympic glory.

Watch Amanda race the Chula Vista event on March 30th - April 1st
