Any BMX'ers stay at the Tulsa Hard Rock Hotel? Also, what does everyone do at night in Tulsa after the races? Anything fun?

Have never stayed at Hard Rock, but went for the buffet on Thanksgiving a few years ago. It was awesome.

The post-race activity in Tulsa usually involves collapsing, hopefully into a bed, still wearing the clothes you had on all day.

The days are grueling, especially if you are "working" the race, so you may have some time for socializing Wednesday night and Sunday night, if you decide to stay over (we always do), but I would recommend a direct-to-bed strategy on Thurs, Fri and Sat nights.

Even with the two-moto transfer helping with the length of Saturday, if you're working the race, the several-12 hour-days-in-a-row aspect that tends to kick one's butt. Low sleep, 5,000 people in a warm, confined space for four days and airborne dust with dubious contents all combine to make "Grands Flu" a reality for thousands of people each year.

You can help that by sleeping whenever it is not absolutely essential for you to be awake, bring Saline nasal spray (or a Neti Pot) then rinse-blow your nose often, and supplement with massive vitamin C leading up to, and at, the race. Last year, I swabbed Neosporin in my nostrils, and that seemed to help the severity of the flu, though did not eliminate it.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Best,

M
