The second straight doubles are close together....BUT the flow between the two is much better. The second set is more like a step as the front side is about 8-10 inches shorter than the back (not huge, but noticeable). The length of each set increases by 3 feet. The first set is 24ft. The second is 27ft. and the triple into turn two is 30ft. You need to hit them well to carry the speed, but it is better suited to hit them well.

The folks that hate the first straight are still going to hate it... AGAIN they added more backside to the table, and it has MUCH BETTER FLOW. If you can get over the mental side of the speed and distance, you will love it.

Nashville is a unique track. It is by no means cookie cutter. It is a pro level track, but all efforts were made to make it safe. In my opinion, the changes that were made did two things (AND mind you... this was not a complete overhaul of the existing track).

1. If made the track flow far better.
2. It decreased the importance of the first straight. It is still a power first straight, but I think the other three straights are far more important now. I predict several come from behind wins as a result of the 3rd and 4th straights.

How little? My 8yr old girl loves it. She was catching a little air on the first straight but she is pumping everything else.

She was racing a 6 year old girl who was clipped in and couple of 8 girls who were in their first year in BMX running flats. The two girls on flats were not catching any air. They all did fine.

A really fast 8x nose cased on the last straight during practice and dumped it, but was able to race. I don't recall any other incidents.

The wild card in turn out this weekend is a lot of northern kids are still in school which makes some parents not want to take time off school when the are in the last weeks. Plus I think some might be afraid of the track. I think it will be somewhere around 240. I thought Posder springs ws going to be a bigger turn out. I think if it was three weeks later you could get closer to 300 motos.

Music City has seen alot of changes on and off of the track. Including: Tamed down tabletop, taller 1st double in 2nd straight, 30ft Triple before 2nd turn, Last straight= double, table, double , NEW Concession Stand, Gravel Paths, Tore the tower down (makes the track 10 times more visible from the 1st straight fence) And none of it could have been done without Tommy Jacobs and all the board members and the Volunteers!! These are the people that make this track one of the Best Tracks in the NATION!!!! They did an AWESOME job in preparing this track for the national, and i believe like Ken Spring said there will be alot of 3rd and 4th straight come backs. Cant wait to bang bars at the MUSIC CITY NATIONALS!!!! WHERE YOU GONNA BE AT??????

This is one of the main reasons we are missing it this year. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
