moblie phones and internet in the USA

Hi Everyone
my son and I are coming to the states for a 3 month racing road trip in September (get in for the black Jack) we were thinking when we land we will get pre paid sim cards for our Iphones and also buy a pre paid internet dongle for our computers internet. Do any of you guys have any suggestions on who to use I heard that you can only use AAPT with Iphones ?

Thats where I got my USA sim cards from. Good option.
