Up here in Toledo, Ohio we have a track that gets to see some really good riders this time of year. Since we are able to stay open till the ABA Grands, many take this oppertunity to check out the track and get some track time in before the big race. Yesterday I got to see one of the best ever in BMX at our little track. She is planning on making a comeback at this years ABA GRANDS. She has been out of racing since she crashed hard at Rockford a couple of years ago. Had a chance to talk to her, she is really looking forward to getting back to the races. She is a former WORLD #1 as well as National #1. Well loved and respected in this community with the skills of a champion. I can tell you she is in great shape already and just needs to get some endurance. Our little track poses no threats of getting hurt, but will test your lungs. 1100 feet of flat track with about 15 obsticles to get over. It will get a rider in shape. With around 6 weeks till the GRANDS, I think that she will be the one to beet. I anticipate another GRANDS 1st place in the near future for her. Any guesses on who I may be alking about? I can say that it was really nice seeing her at the track. I didn't find out that she had just signed up for a membership until after the race. The track has a policy of any new rider's first race is free. There was some confusion about the policy and she had to pay for the race. Well, the next race is on the track, sorry about the misunderstanding. Hope to see her next week and every one till the GRANDS. It will be cool watching here get back in BMX shape, and then seeing her win the GRANDS, again.
