QUOTE (Marek @ Apr 18 2009, 11:57 PM) *
does anyone remember a track on union hills and 52 in the early 70s? I raced there when i was like five or something with work boots on and all. my sister raced the powder puff class. I think a good ole flag start two lap rough track race would be fun.

I don't' get in to this site very often, any more, but enjoy every minute when I do.
I raced here in AZ around the early 80's and it was RoadRunner, Peoria, and Chandler BMX, for me. I could race 2-4 times a week and it was easy to get faster and move up thru the classes. I believe that I raced 15 Novice and up to Expert before I moved back to Montana in '82 to finish high school.
I remember guys like Scott Mitchell (Ralph's Bike Shop/Hustler) because he and I rode to the races together a lot. I took my connection to Ralph's back to Montana and wound up with a very sweet Hustler Pit Bike with the Baby Bottema forks. Sold it to my paperboy and wonder, to this day, where that ride wound up.
Reading some of the names mentioned here brings back good memories, so I'll be back more often.
Have a great 2017!

PXA was actually at 43rd avenue and UnionHills. If you raced there in the early days it was a two lap race with mud puddles. I started racing there in 73-74ish. tom Catchings
