There were Hutches made by MCS, that's a fact!
I found a Hutch with a MCS fork with Hutch decals on it.
The owner said he bought this bike as it is now with the MCS fork thinking it was a Hutch fork!
So did Hutch sell frames with a MCS fork?
Or was it just a bike shop work, stickering MCS forks with Hutch decals and sell as a frame and fork set?
Anyone with answers?
BTW the owner said he bought his Hutch in 1979-1980.
But sure he's wring because the frame has a stampeed brake bridge!
I asume it's a 82 made frame.

Hutch was a mail order company before they were a bike company. I have an ad from March 1980 indicating as such.

Is it possible that what you have is an MCS that Hutch distributed?

I have not figured out how to post pics or I would. Send me an e mail and I will send you the ad, or maybe today is the day I learn to post.

Curt,
the frame is a Hutch, not a MCS!
Just the fork is a MCS one!
Also, the seatstays are welded a bit higher then other models!
Don't know yett about the gusset behind the BB.
Maybe it has this MCS gusset.........

3rd Gear says he had a MCS made for Hutch cruiser frameset. It is definetly Hutch, just a few small differences like the gusset behind the BB and the curvature bend of the forks. The fork looks Hutch, just that the bend is not quite the same.

yeah I know about the gusset.
I'm waiting for a pic of that area........of the bike i located.
But the fork I speak about, is just a MCS one, not the Hutch forks made by MCS!
So, it has the MCS dropouts!

Likely somebody just put the MCS fork on the bike. The only HUTCH forks I have seen are the Robinson style straight blade/dropout,the vertical slot dropout and all the newer stabdard versions....But you never know?

I remember doing Hutch frames at MCS, but man I sure can't remember us doing forks. I could be wrong on that as I have hit my head a few times.
