I would like those who read an earlier posted note on the location of our track with regard to the City of Flint to consider the following.

First, Richfield Park BMX is located just northwest of the City of Davison. The City of Davison is a nice community that should not be considered in any way like Flint with regards to crime. And, like the City of Davison, Richfield Park BMX is not a place where criminals choose to make their home or hangout. There are a lot of families that bring their kids to the track to ride and race that are between the ages of 3 and 10. Most people will steer clear of places that are unsafe or a danger to their family.

The volunteers at Richfield Park BMX are proud that our facility is a safe place and we would like anyone visiting our track or website to feel the same as we do. I can't do anything about bad press regarding the City of Flint. However, I can tell you on this forum that Richfield Park BMX is a safe and family friendly track to come to. Check out our website at www.richfieldparkbmx.com or our facebook page at Richfield Park BMX Track. We will update it as often as possible on the camping concerns.

We have met with the Parks and Rec commission on getting a temporary camping permit countless times. Even told them they could have any profits we made from on-site camping and they still turned us down. Not much time left to get approval for on-site camping if we get lucky and get it approved. The application through the parks commission has to be submitted 6 weeks prior to the event. If it was turned in today, notification of their decision wouldn't be received for at least two to four weeks. But, we will keep bugging them.

For those staying at hotels, check out our website. Their is a list of Hotels under the track directions and lodging tab.

I hope this helps your cause because there's no doubt the area is nothing but great. For those that are worried, just type in (Richfield Park BMX, Davison, MI) in Google Maps and click on Satellite. Anybody that makes it there will worry more about deer than crime in that area.
