I have a 3.1XL frame and fork, and the neck is stuck in the tube. When I look in the fork tube, I cannot tell if the bottom wedge of the neck is stuck, or if there is a wedge permanantly attached inside. Did the 3.1XL fork come with some kind of special wedge inside? I seriously doubt it, but I want to make sure before I start hammering on it.

What would be the best way to get it out? I was thinking of using a large screw driver inside of the fork, and hammering it out? It's pretty rusted though...

just saturate the inside of the head tube with wd-40, let it sit overnight or a couple of days and then whack it out from the bottom with a large socket extension or something round (I use craftsman in case I ruin the extension. free replacement good luck.....JP
