So you knew the Stanards then? Felicia and I met in 84 were gonna get married in 85 but it never happened, oh well. Her Brother (blonde one with roid rage) had what could have been a bad azz 66 Mustang but I don't think he ever got it running. I had a yellow 72 Merc Comet with a well built 351C 4v/Top loader/9" at the time and used to give him allot of crap about putting his car were his mouth was. My comet was running 11.OHs. In the early 80's that was damn fast for a daily driver street car

I went steady with Sharon, Rogers Sister from my Sr year to one year past. Rogers Dad had a sand rail and I used to go the Glamis and Butter Cup with them.

Playa, no not me, more of the serious relationship kinda guy, even then

O.K.,...here's a reach: I remember a DG BMX cataloge with Stu, Skibel, Bottema all jumping on the cover. Anybody have an image of that ?

That is a really great find. I am hoping someday someone will find a stash of '80 thru '87 ABA results. I am working on a project and really want some info from those years.

Hey Cheez....you ever drive that Comet to GCC ? I saw a buddy at the reunion that was totally into the street scene in the 70's/80's. He remembered a yellow comet that would cruise through GCC occasionally.

Yeah I went to GCC. There was another guy who also went there that had a yellow Maverick w/Cragars and a scoop. We belonged to the same car club, Central Arizona Street Machines. I think his name was Kenny, kinda of a doushe. I could never get him to run me he always had some lame excuse. Used to cruise Metro allot. I'm sure you remember doin that it was in your back yard.

Metrocenter....aahhhh ya, cruising, babes,beer,brawls......many memorable "wasted" weekends........wouldn't trade it for a thing!

As I go through these boxes, I have to say, for only having 10% of the rider base as Cal., AZ put out some damn good talent!

Image (1) 1976 "Kawasaki Grand Nationals" at the one and only Saddleback Park. We all got are butts handed to us big time.....but never again! My sister still has that Kawasaki plate with the image of Dave Clinton for winning. Does Reilly still have Clintons bike?

Just teasin ya Tom, everybody knows you were fast ! Laps....hmmmmmmm, Well, the reason I stopped BMX was that I nearly lost my left leg racing motocross at Beeline dragway under the lights 4 days before the whole Patterson team was coming to pick me up in AZ. and heading out for a summer tour. So.......hell ya!.................just need alot of those beers first !

Was your wreak at the 2nd burm at the end of the front straight? I remember two guys locking handlebars just before the entry and going through the fence. Some little girl who was sitting on the end of a tail gate got the worst of that one. I used race at Beeline. Remember the night it rained mud?
