BTW, that is an Answer driver and this is my first set of Answer wheels. I've always ridden Profiles with Sun rims with no issues. I'd really like to keep riding these so any help is appreciated.
I cracked one driver within the first six months of owning the Answer expert wheels and have not had any issues since I replaced it, two years now. One thing I can think of to help prevent this is to clean the driver on a regular basis and do not use grease. Just coat it with oil. I think the paws can and will get hung up with grease putting them in an odd loaded spot which may cause the driver to crack. Just a thought and I have no proof this is the cause or cure. My wheels were new and the driver was clean when it broke but I have been maintaining the wheels like I mentioned with no more failures. It could be the new driver itself that is better, material or something?
I also make sure the spring is working good on the paws. It may need a little adjustment to get more spring pressure on the paws to help them return or spring out better.
